I love a nice and juicy peach cobbler with some good crust on top and this one hits the spot! This is about what Gramma used to make when I was growing up. Funny, a lot of our best memories centered around eating!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

An old-fashioned recipe for peach cobbler just like grandma made. A flaky homemade crust holds in juicy fresh peaches with just the right amount of cinnamon. It tastes like a peach pie without a bottom crust. Make sure to serve a slice with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.

How To Make homemade peach cobbler

Test Kitchen Tips
When blanching the peaches, cutting an X on the bottom helps make peeling easier. Also, after removing peaches from boiling water, dunk them in ice water to prevent cooking.
  • Quickly boiling fresh peaches.
    1
Preheat oven to 425* F. Peel peaches by dipping them in boiling water for about 1 minute.
  • Removing skin from the peaches.
    2
Slip the skins off and slice the peaches into wedges, discarding pits.
  • Sliced peaches in a baking dish.
    3
Place peaches in a 9" or 10" baking dish or casserole dish.
  • Sugar, corn starch, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl.
    4
In a small bowl, mix sugar, corn starch, vanilla, and cinnamon with a fork.
  • Sugar mixture and dots of butter on the peaches.
    5
Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the peaches and dot with butter.

For the topping, mix together flour, salt, and baking powder. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or two knives.
  • Adding milk to form a dough.
    7
Stir in milk, all at once, stirring with a fork until the dough clings together.
  • Dough rolled on a mat.
    8
Pat or roll out dough to 1/4" thick to the shape of the dish.
  • Crust placed on the baking dish and sealed.
    9
