This recipe is from an episode with Paula Deen. Pumpkin pie used to be my son's favorite until he tried this one. It is amazing!

Ingredients For grits pie

3/4 cwater

1/8 tspsalt

1/4 cquick cooking grits

1/2 cbutter
-
3/4 csugar

2 Tbspflour

3 mdeggs, slightly beaten

1/4 cbuttermilk

1 tspvanilla

1unbaked pie shell
-
sweetened whipped cream
How To Make grits pie

1Pre heat oven to 325 degrees. Combine water & salt, bring to a boil. Add the grits & cook for 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the butter; cook for 1 additional minute. Set aside to cool slightly.

2Combine sugar, flour, eggs, buttermilk & vanilla. Slowly stir into the cooled grits. Pour into pie shell and bake for 35-40 minutes or until set.

3Serve warm or cold with whipped cream.
