Old Pumpkin Pie Recipe. Always our family favorite. And if you don't like the flavor of cloves or ginger this is a good recipe for you.

    eggs beaten
  • 1 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3 1/2 c
    (1 large can of pumpkin )
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    ginger (optional)
  • 4 Tbsp
    melted butter,* melted in 1 and 3/4 cup hot milk
  • 1 3/4 c
    hot milk (or diluted evaporated milk to make whole milk)
  • BAKE AT 450 DEGREES FOR 15 MINUTES THEN REDUCE OVEN TEMPERATURE TO 350 DEGREES FOR 35 MINUTES. IF YOUR OVEN RUNS TO HOT OR COOL YOU MAY HAVE TO ADJUST TEMPERATURE FOR YOUR OVEN

  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/3 c
    boiling water* or boiling water and milk combination for a flakier crust
  • 2/3 c
    shortening
  • 1 9' DOUBLE CRUST.OR 2- 9' SHELLS. SIFT FLOUR, SALT& BAKING POWDER TOGETHER. POUR WATER OR MILK OVER SHORTENING AND MIX WITH A FORK TILL CREAMY. ADD FLOUR MIXTURE. MIX TO DOUGH. CHILL. ROLL OUT ON FLOURED SURFACE AND CUT INTO 2 9
  • pie shells. add pumpkin filling . cook as directed above.

    Beat eggs,add sugar,salt, pumpkin,cinnamon, nutmeg,ginger (if desired.) make the melted butter. (In the 1 and three quarters cup hot whole milk*)*Or Diluted Evaporated milk to make whole milk. Add to other Ingredients, stir. pour into pie crust and bake as directed above.
