This pie is the perfect balance of sweet and sour. It was a favorite recipe of my mother's as it used some of our over abundance of rhubarb.

Ingredients For gram's rhubarb pie

  • 3 c
    chopped rhubarb
  • 1
    frozen 9-inch deep dish pie crust
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 3 lg
    eggs
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted

How To Make gram's rhubarb pie

    Heat oven to 450 degrees F.
  • 2
    Place chopped rhubarb in frozen pie crust, spread evenly on bottom. Set aside.

    In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour and nutmeg.

    Add the eggs and melted butter. Mix well.
  • 5
    Pour egg mixture evenly over rhubarb. (Mixture will be thick.)

    Bake at 450 degrees F. for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F. and bake 30-35 minutes longer

    Remove from oven and cool. Store leftovers in refrigerator.
