I got this recipe from my mother a long time ago. It's so easy to make and always gets rave reviews. The recipe makes two pies! One for you and one for a friend...maybe. It's so good you might want both!

Ingredients For fresh strawberry pie

  • 2
    baked pie shell
  • 2-1/2 -3 lb
    fresh strawberries
  • COMBINE THE FOLLOWING IN A SAUCEPAN
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • ADD
  • 2 c
    cold water
  • 2 Tbsp
    white corn syrup

How To Make fresh strawberry pie

  • 1
    Bring the sugar, cornstarch, salt, water and corn syrup to a boil and then cook over medium heat until thick and clear. (6-8 minutes)

    Remove from heat and add 1 pkg. strawberry gelatin. Mix thoroghtly. Cool.

    For each pie slice several strawberries into thirds and line the bottom of each pie crust with a layer of sliced strawberries.

    Cover the sliced strawberries with a layer of whole strawberries.
  • 5
    Pour the gelatin mixture over the strawberries to cover.
  • 6
    Refrigerate for several hours or until set.
