This is a recipe that was my grandmothers (Evelyn) she was a wonderful cook and this pie is awesome.

Ingredients For evelyn's butterscotch pie

1 cbrown sugar

2 Tbspbutter, room temperature

2 Tbspflour
-
2 lgegg yolks, reserve whites

1/4 tspsalt
-
1 tspvanilla extract
-
1 cmilk
-
1/2 cwater
- FOR MERINGUE

2egg whites
-
4 Tbspsugar
How To Make evelyn's butterscotch pie

1Bake a 9 inch pie crust at 350 degrees until golden brown. Cool on wire rack.

2In a saucepan; combine brown sugar, butter, flour, egg yolks, salt, vanilla extract, milk and water. On medium heat bring to a boil, stirring constantly so it doesn't scorch; reduce heat and stir until filling thickens. Cool slightly; then pour into pie crust.

3In a mixing bowl; add egg whites and sugar. Using a hand mixer; mix on medium high speed until soft peek's form. Pour mixture on pie and bake at 350 degrees until meringue is browned. Cool on wire rack and refrigerate left overs.
