Ingredients For coconut cream pie

  • 3
    egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • coconut, flaked as much as wanted
  • 1/2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1
    baked pie shell

How To Make coconut cream pie

  • 1
    Slightly beat egg yolks. Add milk, flour and sugar. Mix well, heat on medium heat stirring constantly until thick. Remove from heat, add coconut, butter and vanilla mix well. Pour filling into baked pie shell.

    Beat egg whites with a pinch of cream of tartar beat until stiff peaks form, add 3 tablespoons of sugar and beat a few minutes more. Spread on filling and bake until brown.
