I found this recipe and have made it several times. Have always had compliments on it. My husband likes this with ice cream or whipped cream on top.

Ingredients For chocolate chess pie

  • 1
    9-inch pie shell, unbaked
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    cocoa
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 2
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    small can (5.33 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 to 1/4 c
    chopped pecans (optional)

How To Make chocolate chess pie

    Prepare unbaked pie shell.
  • 2
    Mix sugar, cocoa and butter. Stir well.

    Add eggs and beat with electric mixer for 2 1/2 minutes.

    Add salt, milk and vanilla. Stir in pecans, if desired.

    Pour filling into pie shell.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
