This is an easy pie/cake to make. I first acquired this recipe several years ago from a friend in Maryland. I have made it once for my family, and it was gone in no time flat. It's time to make it again. So good, so gooey, and so sinfully delish!

Sweet and satisfying, this chewy caramel brownie pie is fantastic. It has a rich and dense brownie pie layer that's covered in gooey caramel. Sprinkling with chocolate chips and nuts and then baking melts the chips and slightly toasts the pecans. It's an easy chocolate caramel dessert that can be served at a holiday meal or whenever you're craving chocolate.

Ingredients For chewy caramel brownie pie

  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 4
    unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c
    self-rising flour
  • 2 lg
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • CARAMEL SAUCE
  • 8 oz
    caramels, unwrapped
  • 3 Tbsp
    whipping cream
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1/4 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • FOR SERVING
  • vanilla ice cream

How To Make chewy caramel brownie pie

  • Chocolate and butter in a saucepan.

    Heat oven to 350 F. In a 2 quart saucepan, combine butter and unsweetened chocolate.
  • Stir until the chocolate melts.

    Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until melted.
  • Remaining brownie ingredients whisked together.

    Whisk together remaining brownie ingredients.
  • Adding melted chocolate to the batter.

    Add melted chocolate and butter.
  • Batter poured into a greased pie plate.

    Spread batter into a greased 9" pie pan.
  • Baking the brownie pie.

    Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the brownie is firm to the touch.
  • Caramels and whipping cream in a saucepan.

    Meanwhile, in a 1-quart saucepan, cook caramels and whipping cream over medium-low heat.
  • Stirring until caramels are melted.

    Stir occasionally until the caramels are melted.
  • Baked brownies removed from the oven.

    Remove the brownie from the oven.
  • Pouring melted caramels over the brownie.

    Spread the melted caramel mixture over the entire baked brownie.
  • Pecans and chocolate chips sprinkled on the caramel.

  • Pie plate returned to the oven.
