I have had this recipe since 1980. I don't remember how i came across it. But my Husband loves it and my girls fix it for thier families.

Ingredients For cherry skillet cobbler

  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 can
    cherries packed in its own juice
  • 1/2 c
    self rising flour
  • 1/2 c
    milk

How To Make cherry skillet cobbler

    Prepare and cook in Seasoned Iron Skillet (Seasoned skillet has been burned off and will not rust) You can bake this in a rectangle baking dish too. In skillet melt butter; add 1/2 cup of sugar and cherries with juice. Cook until sugar has completely dissolved the mixture bubbles and has slightly thickened.

    In 2 quart mixing bowl mix remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, with flour and milk; spread over cherry mixture in skillet or rectangular baking dish. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
