I am not a big cherry pie fan but when I tasted this one I was hooked. I have no idea where I got the recipe but it is delicious and has been a staple on our Thanksgiving and Christmas table for the past 30 years. I hope that you enjoy this scrumptious pie during the upcoming holidays.

Ingredients For cherry cream pie

  • 3 Tbsp
    (heaping) flour
  • pinch
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 can
    sour, pitted cherries
  • 2
    egg yolks
  • 1/2 stick
    real butter
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1
    9" baked pie shell
  • whipped cream, sweetened

How To Make cherry cream pie

  • 1
    Mix first3 ingredients together. Add juice from can of cherries. Place in small saucepan and cook until mixtures boils and thickens, stirring constantly Add next 3 ingredients and let mixture come to a boil again. Remove from heat and stir in cherries. Fold into a 9" baked pie shell. Cover entire pie with whipped cream.
