Ingredients For candy apple pie

6 cbaking apples, peeled and thinly sliced

2 Tbsplime juice

3/4 csugar

1/4 call-purpose flour

1/2 tspcinnamon or nutmeg

1/4 tspsalt

1double crust pie pastry (9 inch)

2 Tbspbutter or margarine
- TOPPING

1/4 cbutter or margarine

1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

2 Tbspheavy cream
-
1/2 cpecans, chopped
How To Make candy apple pie

1In a large bowl, toss apples with lime juice. Combine dry ingredients; add to the apples and toss lightly. Place bottom pastry in a 9 inch pie plate; fill with apple mixture. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust. Flute edges high; cut steam vent. Bake at 400 degrees for 40-45 minutes; or until golden brown and apples are tender.

2Meanwhile, for topping, melt butter in a small saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and cream; bring to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in pecans. Pour over top crust. Return to oven for 3-4 minutes or until bubbly. Serve warm.
