Ingredients For buttermilk lemon pie

  • 1 stick
    butter or margarine
  • 11/2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs (beaten)
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 6 Tbsp
    flour (unbleached)
  • 1
    lemon (squeezed for juice)
  • 1
    unbaked deep-dish pie crust
  • 1/4 tsp
    nutmeg (freshly ground)

How To Make buttermilk lemon pie

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients except nutmeg. Prick the bottom of the unbaked pie crust with a fork, and then pour mixture into crust. Grate a little of that fresh nutmeg on top and place pie on a cookie sheet to catch any overflow. Bake at 325° F for 25 to 30 minutes ‘til it barely jiggles in the middle and is browned on top. Then, lock your screen door cause every man in town's gonna be at your doorstep for a piece of that pie! Yum!
