brown paper bag apple pie
This sounds crazy, doesn't it? It will be the best apple pie you have ever eaten. My grandmother baked all her fruit pies in a brown paper grocery bag. It won't catch on fire if you don't let it touch the top of the oven. I take one of my racks out when baking this pie. My family goes nuts over this pie. When it's time to bake, you put the pie pan in a brown bag and sit it on a cookie sheet. Roll the end up and staple shut. Out of this world tasty.

6Place in oven taking care not to touch the element. Bake at 425 for 1 hour. Brown bag will scorch but will not catch fire.
