Ingredients For homemade eggnog pie

1 1/8 tspgelatin, unflavored
-
1/4 ccold water
-
3/4 csugar
-
2 Tbspcornstarch
-
2/3 cmilk
-
3egg yolks, lightly beaten
-
1 tspvanilla extract
-
1 1/2 cwhipping cream, whipped
-
1(9-inch) pie shell baked
-
1/8 tspground nutmeg
How To Make homemade eggnog pie

1In a small bowl - soften gelatin in cold water; set aside

2In a sauce pan - combine sugar and cornstarch
-
3Gradually stir in milk until smooth
-
4Bring to a boil
-
5Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened

6Remove from heat
-
7Stir a small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks
-
8Return all to the pan

9Bring to a gentle boil; stirring constantly
-
10Remove from the heat
-
11Stir in gelatin and vanilla
-
12Cool to room temperature; stirring occasionally

13Fold in whip cream
-
14Pour into pie shell
-
15Sprinkle with nutmeg
-
16Refrigerate until set; about 2 hours or overnight
