Stove Top
Ingredients For banana cream pie

1baked 9 inch pie shell

3/4 csugar
-
1/4 ccornstarch
-
2 1/2 cwhole milk
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
3egg yolks
-
1 tspvanilla
-
1 Tbspbutter
-
1 to 2bananas, sliced
-
3egg whites
-
1/4 tspcream of tartar
-
6 Tbspsugar
How To Make banana cream pie
-
1In a heat proof bowl whisk the egg yolks.

2in saucepan add sugar, cornstarch, salt. Stir in milk.

3Over med heat bring to boiling.

4Boil one minute, stirring constantly.

5Remove from heat and stir half into beaten egg yolks.

6Pour back into sauce pan, and bring back to a boil, stirring constantly 1 minute more.

7Stir in butter and vanilla.

8Put a layer of banana then the pudding mixture.
-
9Pour into a baked 9 inch pie shell.

10Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

11In a bowl add egg whites, and cream of tartar, whip until stiff peaks form and add the sugar a little at a time.

12Cover pudding mixture making nice peaks and bake until the top is beautifully browned.
