My husband loves pies better than cakes so I try to find a lot of pie recipes to make for him. This is an interesting combination and he really liked it.

Ingredients For apple macaroon pie

9"unbaked pie shell

4 capples, peeled, cored & sliced

1 Tbspself-rising flour

1/2 cgranulated sugar

1/2 tspsalt
-
1 Tbspbutter or margarine
- TOPPING:

1/2 cgranulated sugar
-
1 Tbspbutter or margarine, melted
-
3/4 cshredded coconut
-
1egg, beaten
-
1/4 cmilk
How To Make apple macaroon pie

1Preheat oven to 400. Rub a little egg white or milk on bottom of crust to prevent it from being soggy.

2Place apple slices in bottom of pie shell. Combine the flour, sugar & salt then sprinkle over apples. Dot with the tablespoon of butter and bake on 400 for 20 minutes.

3TOPPING: While pie is baking, prepare topping by combining the sugar, melted butter, coconut, egg and milk. Remove pie from oven and reduce temperature to 350.

4Spread topping on hot pie and return to oven. Bake @ 350 an additional 30 minutes or until pie is done.
