This is a recipe from a local orchard and I have been using it for years. As soon as we would get home from picking apples, the pie making would begin! So delicious and easy to make.

Ingredients For apple crumb pie

  • 4 - 6 lg
    apples, golden delicious
  • 1
    unbaked pie shell
  • 1 c
    sugar, divided
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 3/4 c
    flour
  • 1/3 c
    butter, cold

How To Make apple crumb pie

  • 1
    Peel apples, slice and arrange in unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon.

    Sift remaining 1/2 cup sugar with flour. Cut butter into sugar and flour until very crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.

    Bake in hot oven, 450 degrees, for about 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake another 30 minutes, or until apples are tender.
