I made a fresh batch of my apple butter today and thought I would give this a try. This is excellent, it is close to the texture of pumpkin pie sets up nice and cuts wonderful, Will be a great addition to Thanksgiving dinner especially for those who don't like Pumpkin. You can use store bought apple butter and add spices of your choice

Ingredients For apple butter pie

1unbaked pie crust

1 capplebutter
-
1 mdegg
-
1/2 cgranulated sugar

2 Tbspall purpose flour
-
2 cevaporated milk ( one 12 oz can)

cinnamon
How To Make apple butter pie

1In a large bowl combine

2apple butter, egg, sugar, flour and milk.

3whisk until well blended. Pour into unbaked pie shell, sprinkle the cinnamon over the top

4Bake in a preheated oven at 450 degrees, for 10 minutes Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 35-45 more minutes or until a knife in the center comes out clean. I always use a pie edge cover after the first 10 minutes so the edge of the crust wont get to dark. You can add a teaspoon or two of vanilla and a 1/2 teaspoon or to taste, of nutmeg if you like
