We have an Amish bakery/restaurant in a small town up the road and we used to go there to buy pies and pastries, which are absolutely wonderful. This pie was one of the things that I loved best. That was before I had diabetes. I can't have it anymore but I hope you can. It's a classic.

3/4 cmilk

1 Tbspbutter, melted

1 csugar

1 1/2 cquick cooking oats

1/2 cchopped walnuts

2 tspvanilla extract

1/4 tspsalt

1 (9")pie crust shell, unbaked
How To Make amish walnut-oatmeal pie

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except pie crust; mix well then pour into pie crust. Bake 40 to 45 minutes, or untl center is set. Let cool 30 minutes. Serve pie warm, or refrigerate and serve when ready.
