I've always loved using vanilla extract in even boxed cakes it adds so much flavor.So I decided to search for a recipe.Hope you like it.

Ingredients For vanilla extract

2 wholevanilla beans

1 1/2 cvodka (i use brandy)

1/2 cwater

1 cgranulated sugar
How To Make vanilla extract

1In a 3-cup glass container with a tight fitting lid,combine vanilla beans and vodka/brandy.Cap and allow to sit at room temperature for 3 weeks.

2At the end of 3 weeks,combine water and sugar.Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.Allow to cool.Combine with vanilla bean,vodka/brandy mixture.Allow to sit at room temperature for 1 month.Store at room temperature.Use as you would normally in your recipes.
