This one came from my mother's recipe file and one I remember as a favorite when I was a kid.

Ingredients For turtle bars

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • FILLING
  • 2/3 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    whole pecans
  • TOPPING
  • 1 c
    chocolate chips

How To Make turtle bars

  • 1
    Mix first three ingredients and pat into ungreased 13x9 pan.
  • 2
    Place pecans on top of crust. Combine butter and sugar in saucepan; boil and stir for 1 minute. Pour over pecans.
  • 3
    Bake at 350 for 25 minutes until bubbly and golden. While still warm, spread with chocolate chips. Cut before completely cooled.
