Personal favorite of the family this recipe stems from Greece and Turkey, my Greek Aunt used to bake this all the time when I was a kid and was the only thing my brother and I would always request. so light and citrusy but not over the top, very easy to make!

Ingredients For revani

1/2 stickbutter or margarine

3/4 cwhite sugar ( or substitute splenda )

1 cfarina - or cream of wheat

1 cflour

1 Tbspbaking powder

1/4 tspsalt

6eggs beaten well
-
1lemon zest, grated ( save orange for later )

1/2 corange juice, fresh

1 calmonds, chopped fine
How To Make revani

1mix butter and sugar until light and creamy.

2add farina and mix well.

3Add the eggs one at a time and mix after adding each egg until well blended.

4Mix alternately the wet and dry ingredients incorporating them together.

5Bake cake in a 11x7 glass pyrex for 30 minutes in a 350'F degree oven. Make syrup once cake is almost done baking.

6Simple Syrup: 2 cups white sugar 2 cups water lemon and orange slices ( i use oranges only and squeeze some of the juice in the syrup ) 1 cinnamon stick 1/4 tsp nutmeg 4-6 cloves 1/4 tsp cardamom Boil for 15 min pour over semi cooled cake, cut into diamond shape pieces ( or whatever shape you like ).
