My mom gave me this recipe, she has made these for Thanksgiving dinner many times. Personally, I prefer these to pumpkin pie.

Ingredients For pumpkin squares

1 call purpose flour

1/2 cbrown sugar

1/2 cquick cooking oats

1/2 cbutter or margarine

16 ozcan pumpkin puree

13 ozcan evaporated milk

2 lgeggs

3/4 csugar

1/2 tspground ginger

1/2 tspsalt

1/4 tspground cloves

1 tspground cinnamon

1/2 cbrown sugar

1/2 cchopped pecans

2 Tbspbutter or margarine
How To Make pumpkin squares

1Combine flour, oats, 1/2 c. brown sugar, and 1/2 c. butter in mixing bowl; mix until crumbly. Press into an ungreased 9X13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.

2Combine pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar, salt, and spices in mixing bowl; beat well. Pour into cooled crust. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

3In the meantime, combine 1/2 c. brown sugar, chopped pecans, and 2 Tbsp. butter; sprinkle over pumpkin filling. Return to oven and bake 15-20 minutes more or until set. Cool.
