When I first made them I was a bit skeptical because I have always had terrible orange flavored things before but after my first bite I was hooked, and when paired with the Orange Cream cheese frosting...it is taken clear out of the ball park!

These brownies brought back memories from my husbands childhood – he always enjoyed eating orange cupcakes as a kid (but in his "professional" opinion, these are much better!)

Ingredients For orange brownies

  • 1 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 4
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    pure orange extract
  • 1 tsp
    fresh grated orange zest

How To Make orange brownies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan.

    Stir together flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add butter, eggs, orange extract, and orange zest. Using a handheld electric mixer, beat until well blended.

    Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until light golden brown and set. Remove from oven, allow to cool, and pierce the entire cake with a fork.

    Spread the Orange Cream Cheese Frosting over completely cooled brownies. Cut into squares.
