Ingredients For oaty apple almond bars

2 cuncooked quick-cooking oatmeal

2 cunbleached, all purpose flour

1 1/3 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 tspground cinnamon

1/2 tspsalt

1/2 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 capplesauce, unsweetened

6 Tbspcanola oil
-
2 capple butter
-
6 Tbspalmonds, slivered
How To Make oaty apple almond bars

1Preheat oven to 325 and grease a 9x13 baking dish

2Mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda. Make a well in the center for the wet ingredients.

3Add the applesauce and the oil into the well in the dry ingredients. Stir together, then mix in the dry ingredients.

4Press HALF the mixture into the bottom of the greased dish. Spread the apple butter over the oatmeal layer. Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top. Finish by sprinkling the remaining oat mixture on top.

5Bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Let cool before cutting into approx. 30 bars.
