My grandmother, Ida, made this every Christmas. It is light and delicate and just something different than regular whipped cream. Wonderful alone, or on a pie, or a cookie ... be warned, it is addictive! My youngest daughter, Diana, 12, loves this cream with everything.

Ingredients For nonna's italian cream

15 ozwhole milk ricotta - well drained

3 ozcream cheese - room temperature

3 Tbspheavy cream

7 Tbspsugar

1/4 tspalmond extract

maraschino cherries/pistachios
How To Make nonna's italian cream

1Blend well drained ricotta with the cream cheese using a hand mixer on low speed or by hand.

2Add heavy cream, sugar and almond extract. Mix well.

3Spoon into a decorative bowl and top with maraschino cherries (pistachios crushed or any other favorite topping). Chill at least one hour before serving. Enjoy!
