This represents one in a series of recipes a good friend sent to me approximately 25 years ago. Back then before the internet and computers were popular, you swapped recipes via the mail.

Ingredients For mary's sweet potato casserole

3 cmashed sweet potatoes (4 to six large ones)

1/2 chalf and half

1 csugar (white)

2eggs (well beaten)

1 tspvanilla

1 dashnutmeg

1 stickbutter or oleo
How To Make mary's sweet potato casserole

1Boil potatoes until tender and drain well. Mix all ingredients and put in baking dish

2For the topping: Melt 2 1/2 tablespoons butter or oleo. Combine 1/4 cup flour and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add 1/2 cup pecans (omit if you prefer) plus 2 tablespoons water. Pour topping over casserole mixture.

3Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees in an uncovered dish.
