This is a wonderful brownie variation, and great for those who don't care for chocolate. NOTE: This recipe can be doubled, but not tripled.

Ingredients For english cherubs

1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed, divided

1/2 cbutter, softened

1 1/3 cflour
-
dash of salt
-
2eggs
-
1/2 csugar
-
1 tspvanilla extract
-
1/4 tspsalt
-
1/2 ccoconut, flaked
-
1 cpecans, fine chopped
How To Make english cherubs

1Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 9" square pan with non-stick spray, parchment or grease and flour.

2In a large bowl, combine 1/2 of brown sugar,butter, flour and dash of salt. Mix until well blended.

3Press into bottom of pan.

4In small bowl, beat eggs till foamy.

5Add remaining brown sugar,1/2 c. sugar, vanilla and 1/4 tsp. salt. Mix well.

6Stir in coconut and pecans, and then spread over the batter in pan.

7Bake for 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Cut into 1-1/2" squares.
