When I was little my grandma use to make this pastry for bridal showers, baby showers, family reunions, etc...everyone loved it !! My grandma is gone now but I think of her everytime I make this, and now my husband loves it too !!

Ingredients For danish puff

  • 1 c
    butter
  • 2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 c
    water

How To Make danish puff

    Preheat oven to 350*
  • 2
    Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup all-purpose flour. Sprinkle 2 TBSP. water over flour mixture. Form into a ball, divide in 1/2. Pat each 1/2 into very thin rectangles {12x3} and place on an ungreased baking sheet...3" apart

    Heat 1/2 cup butter & 1 cup water, bring to a rolling boil, remove from heat. Quickly add 1 teasp. almond extract and 1 cup flour. Stir vigorously over low heat until it forms a ball...Remove from heat

    Add 3 eggs and beat until smooth and glossy. Spread the topping over each rectangle.

    Bake about 1 hour...until the top is crisp and brown. Cool and spread top with glaze...

    GLAZE... Mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 2 TBSP. butter and 1/2 teasp. vanilla extract. Stir in 1 - 2 TBSP. warm water until glaze is pourable. Drizzle over top of Danish.
