This is the gang that I would love to share this with. I would hesitate to share this with any one but this group of cooks. My Dad when I made this said it was just like his mom made. You will need pint canning jars and some kind of large pot to do a water bath on these.

Ingredients For dad's mincemeat

5 1/2 lb(1/2 peck) green tomatoes

1 lbchopped tart apples

1/2 ccitron, ground

1/2 corange juice

1/2 cvinegar

1/2 cground suet ask the butcher for this

2 1/2 cbrown sugar

1 tspsalt
-
1 tspallspice
-
1 tspwhole cloves, cracked

1 tspcinnamon
-
1 lbdark seedless raisins
How To Make dad's mincemeat

1Wash tomatoes, cut into chunks, chop fine.

2Put all other ingredients in pot except raisins. Put spices in a bag.

3Cook on low heat for 1 hour, stirring frequently, add raisins, cook until thick.

4Remove spice bag, fill jars, and put into hot water bath for 25 minutes.
