While working at Public Storage in Gaithersburg, a greek tennant's mother brought me in a slice for a special treat. When I told her I enjoyed it so much she brought me her recipe. Her name was Evangelique Nomicos.

Ingredients For baklava

1 lbphyllo dough

1 lbmelted butter

1 lbchopped walnuts, for filling

4 Tbspsugar, for filling

3/4 cbreadcrumbs, for filling

1 tspcinnamon, for filling

1 1/2 csugar

1 cwater

1 Tbsplemon juice

1 stickcinnamon

lemon peel
How To Make baklava

1Place 6 phyllos in baking pan, brushing each with melted butter. Put on some filling, then 2 phyllos brushed with butter. Continue until 6 remain for the top and you have used all the filling. Cut only halfway through in diamond patterns. Prepare syrup and spoon over baklava. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool completely, cut completely.
