How To Make apple ring fritters (and balls)
-
1Put all dry ingredients into a large bowl.
-
2Add eggs, oil, vanilla, and about 1/2 of the can of 7-UP. Stirring to create a thick batter, add more 7-UP as needed.
-
3I don't worry about the batter looking uniform, I like the swirls of cinnamon.
-
4Wash, dry and slice apples, remove the core (I use a cannoli tube, but you can use a knife or small round cutter).
-
5Place apple rings into batter, I use a fork to turn them and remove them from batter.
-
6Put coated apple ring into hot oil for frying.
-
7Use a fork or a slotted spoon to turn apple rings over and to remove them from the hot oil.
-
8Place rings on a paper towel lined platter or in a lined colander.
-
9*** You can also cut up apple and make apple balls.
-
10Sprinkle with either vanilla sugar, cinnamon sugar (or both!) ***I use Rodelle Vanilla Sugar or Cinnamon Sugar. I became hooked on Rodelle products after winning a grand prize several years ago... part of the prize was a years supply of Rodelle baking products.
-
11You can use favorite apples, red or green. Slice into rings... Or heart shapes. Cut apples up and down to get heart shapes. Remove seeds/core the same as you do the rings.
