susan's fried apples
(4 ratings)
My kids have always loved this, and they still ask for it. Simple to make, and I often do it when I need another side dish and don't know what else to make.

How To Make susan's fried apples
-
1Core the apples but don't peel. Slice them into wedges, then cut each wedge into several thin slices. Mix together the brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
-
2Melt the butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Add apples, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Stir in the brown sugar, salt, cinnamon mixture. Continue to cook and stir until apples are very soft.
-
3Just before serving, drizzle on the sorghum and give it a quick stir.
-
4These are great served with oatmeal for breakfast, or over vanilla ice cream for dessert. They also make a great side dish to a meal, which is how I normally serve them.
