This recipe is great for card clubs, womens club pot lucks and family gatherings or just a dessert at your home. I usually double the recipe, it taste like ice cream sundae. Do not leave sitting out, must be kept frozen. Delicious.

Ingredients For strawberry squares

  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    chopped nuts (walnuts)
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter or margarine
  • 2/3 c
    sugar
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 10 oz
    frozen strawberry (thawed) or other fruit
  • 1 lg
    cool whip (lite can be used)

How To Make strawberry squares

  • 1
    Mix first four ingredients together with fork till crumb consistancy, bake on cookie sheet till nice light brown. stir occasionally while browning. Put 2/3 of crumbs into 9 x 12 cake pan. Set aside 1/3 of the crumbs for topping.

    Beat together at high speed sugar, egg whites and fruit with juice till stands in peaks, remove and fold in 1 large tub cool whip (lite ) can be used also. Spread mixture over the cooled crumbs. Sprinkle some of the reserved crumbs on top. Freeze six hours. Serve frozen
