    10 ounce angel food cake
  • 16 oz
    softened cream cheese
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 8 oz
    cool whip
  • 1 qt
    fresh strawberries
  • 18 oz
    jar strawberry glaze
  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped (optional)
  • 1 jar
    chocolate syrup (optional)

How To Make strawberry fields forever (sallye)

    Hull and slice strawberries, place in large mxing bowl and set aside

    Break angel food cake into bite size chunks and set aside

    Whisk cream cheese and sugar with electric mixer until creamy and sugar is dissolved

    Fold in Cool Whip

    In a trifle bowl (or other decorative bowl) begin layering as follows:

    1 layer of cake
    1 layer of strawberries
    1 layer of cream cheese/cool whip mixture
    1 layer of strawberry glaze
    A sprinkle of pecans (optional)

    Continue layering until all ingredients are used finishing with a sprinkle of pecans.

    Drizzle chocolate syrup over top (optional)

    Add a sprig of mint to top for garnish if desired
