I remember this being served as dessert for a dinner party in Scotland. It is so darn yummy! The flambe also is a magnificent presentation!

Ingredients For maple baked bananas, barb

  • 4
    peeled bananas
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/3 c
    maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    dark rum, optional
  • ice cream, optional

How To Make maple baked bananas, barb

  • 1
    Cut bananas in 1 1/2" thick pieces and place in single layer in buttered 4 c baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Pour syrup over and dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees 20 min, turning 2-3 times.

    To flambe: just before serving, warm rum and ignite. Pour over bananas.
