This recipe originates in an organizational recipe book that I received as a gift some years ago. Many of the recipes in that book have become kitchen staples. This one is especially good with outstanding fruit flavor.

Ingredients For fruit crunch

4 cdiced fresh fruit (rhubarb, apples, cherries, blueberries. i have used frozen blueberries successfully.

1 cflour, sifted

3/4 coatmeal

1 cbrown sugar, packed

1/2 cbutter, melted
-
1 tspcinnamon
-
1 csugar
-
1 cwater
-
2 Tbspcornstarch

1 tspvanilla
How To Make fruit crunch

1Mix flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon together until crumbly in texture. Press half of crumb mixture into a greased 9-inch square pan. Add diced fresh fruit.

2In a saucepan mix granulated sugar, water, cornstarch and vanilla. Cook syrup ingredients until thick and clear. Pour over fruit. Top with remaining crumbs.

3Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
