To simplify or speed things up, opt for a premade pie filling of choice and skip step 1.

1Add the fruit and sugar to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the fruit has burst and begins to thicken, about 12-15 minutes. Slowly whisk in the cornstarch, and continue cooking until thickened to a jam-like texture, about 2-3 more minutes.

2Whisk the egg and water until no white streaks remain. Wrap the wontons wrappers in a damp paper towel. Set up an assembly line on a clean work surface including the wrapped wonton wrappers, whisked egg, cream cheese, and cooked fruit.

3Working with up to 4 wonton wrappers at a time, add about ½ tsp of cream cheese and 1 tsp of cooked fruit to the center of the wonton wrapper.

4Lightly brush the edges of the wonton wrapper with the egg mixture.

5Gently bring all four corners together over the filling. Press the seams together until they stick.

6Set in an air fryer basket, leaving about 1 inch of space between each wonton. (You will need to air fry your wontons in batches, but only assemble as many wontons as you can fit into the basket at one time to avoid the wrappers drying out.) Lightly spray each wonton with cooking spray, and air fry at 350 degrees F for 5-6 minutes, or until lightly golden.

7Remove from the air fryer and dust with powdered sugar.

8Repeat steps 3 through 6 until all the wontons are assembled and fried.
