3/4 call purpose flour

1/2 tspbaking soda

pinch of salt

2 Tbspsugar

6 Tbspwater

1 Tbspsesame seeds

peanut or corn oil for deep frying

2 Tbspclear honey, to serve
How To Make fried bananas

1Strain the flour into a large bowl with the baking soda and salt. Stir in the sugar, then whisk in the egg and enough of the water to make a smooth, thin batter. Whisk the sesame seeds into the batter.

2Peel the bananas and halve them lengthwise, then cut each one in half across the center. Heat the oil in a wok or deep heavy bottomed skillet to 350-375 or until a cube of bread browns in 30 seconds.

3Dip the banana pieces into the batter to coat, then deep-fry them in batches, until golden brown. Remove the fried bananas with a perforated spoon and drain on paper towels. Transfer to serving plates, drizzle with honey and serve.
