I learned to cook by watching my mother who seldom used a recipe. This is one of those recipes I normally do the same way, but today I measured after I poured to get it down on paper. This was a family favorite when I was a kid, and still one in my home today some (um) decades later.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This easy cobbler recipe puts the spotlight on fresh peaches and blueberries. It's filled with fresh fruit. On top is a sweet biscuit-like topping that's crunchy, fluffy, and light. Sweet and tart, the flavor combination tastes like summer.

How To Make fresh peach and blueberry cobbler

Test Kitchen Tips
The fresh peaches release juices that make the filling a little runny. To thicken up the sauce, we suggest coating the peaches and blueberries in 2-3 Tbsp of corn starch or flour.
  • A bowl of sliced peaches tossed with lemon juice.
    1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Wash and pit fresh peaches. Slice into a large bowl. Add lemon juice and gently toss. I weigh them once the pit is removed.
  • Peaches and blueberries in a baking dish.
    2
Arrange in a 9x13 glass cake pan. Sprinkle the washed blueberries around and over the peaches.
  • Mix cinnamon and sugar.
    3
Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the fruit.
    4
Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the fruit.
  • Dot with butter.
    5
    Dot with butter.
  • Mix Bisquick, sugar, and milk.
    6
For the cobbler topping, mix Bisquick and sugar. Slowly add milk until a dough forms.
  • Drop topping over the fruit.
    7
Drop spoonfuls of topping over the fruit.
  • Sprinkle with sugar.
    8
    Sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake the fresh peach cobbler.
    9
Bake for 60 minutes or until the cobbler topping is golden brown.
  • Let the baked cobbler cool.
    10
Remove from oven and let cool for 10 - 15 minutes before serving. We like this as is or with ice cream or whipped topping.
