This is a simple way to freeze up seasonal pears and then use later to make a yummy Country Fresh Pear Pie (see recipe in my kitchen).

Ingredients For cooked fresh pears

  • 4 qt
    pears, peeled/sliced thick
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 3 c
    water
  • lemon juice
  • quart size freezer bag

How To Make cooked fresh pears

  • 1
    Cook sugar and water until it boils about 10 - 15 minutes. Add the pears and return to boil and let boil 3 minutes.

    Take pears out of juice and cool separately. Add a few drops of lemon juice to the pears to them from turning brown.

    Put 3/4 pears to 1/4 juice in a quart size freezer bag and freeze or use for Country Fresh Pear Pie!
