This is a newly adopted recipe I just tried last weekend in an attempt to use up some fresh apples and a can of cranberry.....lets just say we loved it.....very delicious.

Ingredients For comforting cranberry-apple crisp

  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour (i think i used whole wheat cause i was out of all purpose and it turned out fine)
  • 16 oz
    whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 7 c
    thinly sliced peeled tart apples
  • TOPPING:
  • 1 c
    old-fashioned oats
  • 1/3 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 c
    cold butter, cubed

How To Make comforting cranberry-apple crisp

  • 1
    In a large bowl, combine sugar and flour, stir in cranberry sauce. Add the apples; toss to coat. Transfer to a greased 13x9 baking dish.

    In a small bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, walnuts and cinnamon; cut in butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over apples.

    Bake at 375* for 35-40 mins or till filling is bubbly and topping is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
