This recipe was inspired by another member- I couldn't quite get my head around the ingredients or the directions so this is how I made it.Turned out very good!

Ingredients For coconut apple pie in pizza pan

  • 1
    recipe for single pie crust using coconut shortening, or use your regular recipe
  • 21 oz
    can apple pie filling
  • 1/2 c
    sweetened coconut, shredded
  • 1/2 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground cinnamon

How To Make coconut apple pie in pizza pan

    Preheat oven to 350^. Make crust according to directions and roll and place on pizza pan -crimp a small edge. Can be made in 9x13 inch pan that you line with foil for easy lift out to cut into squares after baking. --- Open pie filling and while still in the can dice it up a bit, then spread evenly over pie crust. --- Note: Other canned pie filling can be used for this recipe: Raspberry is delicious and blueberry and lemon too!

    In a small bowl, combine flour, coconut ,brown sugar and cinnamon. Add cut up pieces of butter and mix in with a pastry blender to make a crumbly mixture.

    Sprinkle this coconut mixture evenly over the apples filling and bake for 25 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and glaze top with the following glaze.

    Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar 2 Tablespoons milk -more or less 1 teaspoon lemon juice Place all ingredients in a small bowl and combine until smooth. Adjust texture so to drizzle stage and drizzle over cooled pie.
