Something different than your Apple Crisp, but still delicious! This is a recipe I adapted from a Curtis Stone recipe when he had to show "Take Home Chef"

Ingredients For cinnamon, vanilla & pear crisp
- FRUIT FILLING

1/3 csugar

1 tspvanilla

5ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced

3/4 tspcinnamon
- CRISP TOPPING

3/4 cflour

1/2 csugar
-
1/2 cold fashioned or quick cooking oats

1 stickbutter, cut into pieces

3/4 csliced almonds, coarsely chopped

pinch of salt
How To Make cinnamon, vanilla & pear crisp

1Preheat oven to 350.

2Put sugar and cinnamon in an 8 inch square baking dish, mix to distribute the cinnamon evenly. Add in the pears and toss to coat. Sprinkle vanilla extract over pears and mix.

3In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, oats and salt to blend. Using your fingers, rub the butter into the flour mixture until moist crumbs form. Mix in the almonds.

4Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the pear mixture. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the fruit is tender and the topping is golden brown.

5Let set for 10 minutes to cool slightly. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
