Ingredients For 'blackberry dumplings"

  • PART 1 BLACKBERRY MIXTURE
  • 3 pt
    ripe blackberries
  • 3/4 cup
    water
  • 1 cup
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    butter softened, no margine
  • PART 2 DUMPLING BATTER
  • 2 cup
    flour
  • 3 Tbs
    sugar
  • 1 Tsp
    salt
  • 3 1/2 Tsp
    baking powder
  • 1
    egg
  • milk to moisten batter

How To Make 'blackberry dumplings"

    Combine all ingredients in Part 1 in large stove top pan, and set aside.

    Sift all dry ingredients in part 2, into mixing bowl. Add: egg and mix well. Add enough milk to make a stiff batter and set aside.

    Bring Blackberry Mixture to a boil. Drop Dumplings into batter, a Teaspoon at a time. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve with Whip cream, or Vanilla Ice cream.
