This is another recipe I grew up on. This is one of several ways my Aunt makes Apple Crisp. Enjoy!

Ingredients For ~ apple crumb crisp ~

  • 1
    egg
  • 1 c
    each - sugar & flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • enough
    peeled, core and sliced apples to fill a 9 inch pie plate - mines a deep dish, i used 8 granny smith
  • 1/3 c
    melted butter
  • cinnamon
    to taste

How To Make ~ apple crumb crisp ~

    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Butter a 9 inch pie plate. Fill with sliced tart apples.

    In a food processor add the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder, pulse a couple times to mix, then add egg. Pulse until you have fine crumbs.

    Evenly pour this mixture over your apples. Pour melted butter evenly over the crumbs and sprinkle with desired amount of cinnamon.

    Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender. ( If the topping begins to get too brown, before the apples are tender - just cover with a piece of foil. ) Serve with ice cream. Yum!
