Was making shrimp tempura for dinner...no desert! Tweaked my tempura recipe for apples and the rest is history! If you are not comfortable with the cayenne....leave it out. I find it gives just the right amount ZING!

Ingredients For apple tempura

2 mdapples

1 csugar cinnamon mixture

1/2 tspsalt
-
1/4 tspcayenne pepper......... trust me on this ingredient

1 lgegg

1/2 capple cider
-
1/2 cclub soda

1 cflour
How To Make apple tempura

1Core apples and thinly slice.

2Whisk flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, and cayenne.

3Beat egg with 1/2 cup of cider & 1/2 cup of club soda; add to dry ingredients until just combined; refrigerate.

4Pour 3 inches of canola oil into deep skillet or saucepan over med.- high heat. Make sure it's good and hot!

5Dip slices into batter and fry until golden. Drain on paper towels; top with sugar cinnamon mixture. You an use powdered sugar in place of sugar cinnamon mixture.
