Ingredients For apple kuchen
- CRUST

1 1/2 cflour

2 Tbspsugar

1/2 csweet butter cold sliced

1yolk egg, lightly beaten

2 - 3 Tbspice cold water
- APPLE AND CUSTARD FILING

5 -6apples, golden delicious, peeled, cored and thinly sliced

1-2 tsplemon juice to prevent browning

6 Tbspsugar

3eggs
-
1/2 cheavy cream
-
1/2 tsppure vanilla extract
How To Make apple kuchen

1Heat oven to 350 degrees

2Sprinkle apples with lemon juice to prevent browning

3Mix together flour and sugar

4cut in cold butter
-
5sprinkle with enough water and mix until the dough forms into a ball

6refrigerate 1 hour

7Roll dough to fit your pan building up the sides

8Place in a 10" spring form pan

9Layer apple slices in a swirl pattern over dough

10Wisk together eggs, cream and vanilla.

11Pour over apples and bake 350 for 35 - 45 minutes until custard is set and apples are tender
