Ingredients For apple dumpling

1pastry for 2 pie crusts

2 Tbspbutter
-
1.5 tspnutmeg

1.5 tspcinnamon
-
1/2 cgranulated sugar
- FILLING INGREDIENTS

1/4 tspnutmeg

1/4 tspcinnamon

3 Tbspbutter, softened
-
2 cwater
-
1 cgranulated sugar
- SYRUP INGREDIENTS

6apples, peeled and cored
-
vanilla ice cream
How To Make apple dumpling

1Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees.

2Roll pastry slightly less than 1/8\" thick.

3Cut into seven inch squares.

4Bring syrup ingredients to boil.

5Boil 3 minutes.

6Put apple on center of each pastry square.

7Fill with mixture of sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

8Dot each with teaspoon of butter.

9Bring points of pastry up over apple and overlap.

10Place in a baking pan separated slightly and pour one cup of the hot syrup mixture around dumplings.

11Bake at 425 degrees for 45 minutes.

12Just before serving pour rest of warm syrup over dumplings and serve with the ice cream.

13Variation: Peach Dumplings: use 3 large peaches, peeled and pitted (in place of apples).

14Put peach half on center of each square and proceed as for apple dumplings above.
